Who is your muse?

Who is your muse?

Visiting the VAG for the Picasso exhibit: The Artist and his Muses – Explores the Significance of the 6 women in his art and life. I immediately feel in love with this painting of Françoise Gilot who “was the only woman to leave the artist, rather than being discarded by him. She also apparently fanned the flames of Picasso’s jealousy when his frenemy, Henri Matisse stated that he insisted on painting Françoise like a flower with green hair, resulting in Picasso’s response declaring that he could paint her better as a...

Get your body singing a new tune with Commodity Juicery

Adventure we go! My Food Muse has taken me on away again from my art studio to exploit the foodie in me to taste what life has to offer.     On this foodie getaway, I am reminded of an interview with a famous female poker player who not only talked about her experience in the world of poker, the competition and the game, but like a few sports players who have adopted the healthy lifestyle eating so she can be at the top of her game – mentally and physically. Just like Tiger Woods, the famous golf player who was the first in...

An Unexpected Inspiration!

Food is something we devour so effortlessly that we forget to take the time to see and taste its’ secret beauty. I look for my Muse wherever I go just in case it decides to show up right under my nose. Of course it’s not always visual, my Muse will show up to make sure I’m using all my senses to get all of Life’s beauty.

Not often does one find an interview these days where the interviewer takes the time to read all about the artist, explore their portfolio of one life’s works and asks amazing and thought provoking questions. Recently I was interviewed for by Mia Corrino from EnkoArt.wordpress.com, a terrific art site that features many artists. I was really impresses by Mia who has done a whole lot of research that I was particularly pleased with the questions she asked me. Sadly the website is no longer available but luckily… you can read the...

Pink and Black Art Auction 2015

Not just another birthday party!   What a great way to celebrate one’s birthday with an art auction to raise money for a local charity called Baby Go Round (www.babygoround.ca). Chakra Goddesses Showcase: PamperedGoddess.com and The Goddess Experience

I love seeing my latest art series ‘Chakra Goddesses’ be mesmerized and adored by many. Viewers have been intrigued by the originality of the concept of ‘if chakras were a goddesses how would they express themselves’. The stories and the creative journey behind each of them make them very distinctive and unique. There’s nothing quite like it to date.   Seryna Myers, the beautiful spirit behind www.pamperedgoddess.com and I have met at an evening tea party she was catering to. As we explored and tasted a...

Muladhara Root Chakra Goddess (art in progress pics)

When I started this whole chakra goddess series I began from the bottom of the chakra ladder with the Muladhara, the root chakra. My first pencil drawing would set the precedent and the tone for the rest of the series.   Had decided to complete the pencil drawings of all the goddesses before painting any of them to get an idea of what the series would look. I wanted to start from the bottom and work my way up following the flow of the energy, but I couldn’t start with the root chakra goddess. The original drawing of her didn’t feel like...

Sahasrara Crown Chakra Goddess (art in progress pics)

An interesting journey going through the motions with Sahasrara. As the image depicts, I felt peace and flow as I painted her. There were no objections or interruptions I had previously experienced with the other goddesses. A completely different feeling that was so welcomed and unexpected. She emanates the feeling of peace and serenity.   When I started drawing her, I sensed a deep meditative and contemplative energy. This becomes the perfect condition to connect with the universe. The prayer pose was the perfect way to the channel this...
